A feasibility study becomes useful when a founder can see which numbers are inputs, which are modeled outputs, and which questions still need evidence. This guide explains a practical workflow for turning a broad idea into a decision document.
1. Start with a bounded question
Write the decision in one sentence: what will be launched, for whom, where, and by when? A bounded question prevents the report from becoming a collection of generic market claims.
2. Separate facts, assumptions and open questions
Founder-provided facts describe what you know. Assumptions are working estimates such as price, conversion rate, volume or staffing. Open questions are the items that require interviews, quotes, pilots, legal review or primary research. Keeping these categories visible is more valuable than presenting a single confident score.
3. Complete the evidence-led tabs
In the Kimi Brain Feasibility Study workflow, work through Business, Operations, Market, Competitors, Financials, Risks, Compliance and Action Plan. Then review Workbook and Full Report. For each field, add a source or explain why the value is a modeled assumption. Missing evidence should remain visible in the gaps section.
4. Check the calculations
Review revenue, costs, contribution margin, break-even timing, cash needs and sensitivity to the assumptions that matter most. A chart is useful only when its labels, units and period are clear. If a fixed cost or volume estimate is uncertain, test a low, base and high case instead of hiding the uncertainty.
5. Read the recommendation carefully
A recommendation is a planning aid, not a guarantee. A REVISE result can still be useful when it tells you which interview, pilot, price test or compliance check should happen next. The report should make the next decision easier to test.
6. Export and preserve the audit trail
Open Full Report, confirm the charts and calculations are present, then export the PDF or HTML version. Keep the source notes, assumptions and unresolved gaps with the export so another reader can reproduce the reasoning.
